RED DOT SIGHTS for PISTOLS
Red Dot for Pistols is a live fire 8-Hour tactical pistol course that is designed to provide shooters with technical information related to red dot sights, mounting options, and holster considerations. In addition you will learn the best way to conduct training and various drills are run to address the common concerns associated with the use of RDS on pistols
Our Red Dot Sights for Pistols course covers, but is not limited to:
Safety
Red dot sight (RDS) theory
Various red dot sights features, and which ones should be considered for use
Mounting options and considerations
Holster consideration
Use of back-up iron sights (BUIS)
Weapon manipulation with mounted optic
Alternate aiming techniques
Conducting advanced drills for honing skills
Required Gear:
- Handgun
- Holster (No Blackhawk Serpa holsters)
- Minimum three high-capacity (15+ round) magazines or six low-capacity (7-8 rd) magazines
- Dummy rounds for your particular handgun (Amazon.com)
- Magazine holders
- Belt
- Baseball Cap
- Wraparound ballistic eye protection
- Ear protection
- Clothing appropriate for climate and conditions
- A water bottle or other hydration system
- 500-600 rounds of quality handgun ammunition. No reloads please. (More bullets means more shooting)
Prerequisites: Completion of Defensive Pistol, a previous combat course from a reputable school or instructor approval.
